Junior Rhapsody Integration Consultant

ReStart is the UK’s leading healthcare integration company based in Exeter, Devon. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an additional Junior Rhapsody Integration Consultant to join our growing team of experts providing integration consulting and development services to the NHS. The role will involve building upon the knowledge you may already have in relation to integration development and NHS workflow processes. You will get the opportunity to learn from our established team of subject matter experts who collectively have years of experience within the NHS integration field across numerous integration engines.

As part of the team of Consultants you will interact with the Project Manager and project team to ensure the solutions you work on are delivered on time and meet or exceed the requirements of our NHS Customers. The role involves the design, development, testing and release of Rhapsody interfaces as commissioned by our clients. You will be assigned a mentor on a rotational basis who you will buddy up with and turn to for guidance whenever you need it!

As well as dealing with your internal colleagues, you will form working relationships with our NHS clients as you work on their projects.

Duties and responsibilities

Technical Expectations:

  • Feed into the design of new interfaces, or changes to existing interfaces.
  • Based on the design, you will configure interfaces/implement changes using Rhapsody.
  • Unit test solutions ready for handover to client.
  • Documentation of your solution/changes.
  • Assist with issue investigation and resolution when requested by the Support Team.
  • Experience with RDBMS, including object creation and performing data extraction and manipulation.

Personal Expectations:

  • Work unsupervised on tasks assigned and escalate issues when necessary, to team members and the Project Manager.
  • You will have the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Always work to best practice as outlined by ReStart and the NHS Clients we work for.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of technical experience including interface development working as part of a team, or as an individual delivering NHS related projects.
  • Implementation of healthcare interfaces using software such as Rhapsody and have a working knowledge of the industry itself, particularly around messaging standards such as HL7 and XML would be an advantage.
  • Experience of the Web Technologies:
    • HTTP
    • Web Services
    • XML
    • XLST
    • JavaScript
  • Experience using SQL and ability to write and tune queries using Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and server operating systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of excellent problem-solving skills.
