The candidate

As a Senior Integration Engineer at Restart you will play a crucial role in supporting various projects within the NHS, focusing on connecting systems together seamlessly. This customer-facing role requires a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and a deep understanding of integration engines and NHS systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

Work closely with NHS clients to understand their integration requirements and challenges.
Collaborate with clients to architect, design, and implement robust integration solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for integration-related inquiries and issues.
Conduct thorough analysis of existing systems and infrastructure to identify integration opportunities and potential roadblocks.
Design and develop integration workflows, data mappings, and transformation logic to ensure smooth data exchange between systems.
Configure and customise integration engines, middleware, and APIs to meet project requirements.
Lead integration testing efforts, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to technical problems.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on software integration within the healthcare industry, preferably within the NHS.
In-depth knowledge of major integration engines (e.g., Health Connect, Iris, Rhapsody, Mirth) and middleware technologies.
Familiarity with NHS systems, standards, and protocols, such as HL7, FHIR, and NHS Digital's APIs.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
